NEW YORK, NY February 1, 2014 – Dorothy Okung had more reason to come to New York City than just to see her son Russell play in the Super Bowl.

She also got to see her daughter, who is a student at New YorkUniversity and is helping make this dream week even better by lending her local expertise.

“This is an overwhelming feeling, and I keep wondering if it is for real,” exclaimed Dorothy as she prepared to be interviewed on the Player Engagement’s “PE TV” set Friday.

Since flying into New Jersey from Houston on Wednesday to watch her son start a Super Bowl as offensive tackle for the Seattle Seahawks, Dorothy has had a whirlwind week, but managed to see Russell at least two evenings, with Friday being a family dinner planned by her daughter.

“We are all doing great, particularly Russell, while waiting for the Super Bowl Sunday,” said Dorothy, adding that “there are lots of things to do with many places to see and fans everywhere.”

She has not yet seen her 6’5” 310-pound son play in person in the postseason, but was not about to miss seeing him in the Super Bowl, which will cap off a memorable few months for Dorothy.

Back in November, Dorothy lived another dream when she published her first book, entitled “Only the Lonely Can Play.”

With a Thanksgiving week book launch event in Houston, Dorothy, who authored the book under her name of Eno (www.enoentertainment.com), said she has received tremendous support since the book came out.

“The book is a snapshot of many forms of loneliness that women have,” she said “To bring this to life, I created four characters who were married, single, a mother, and an empty nester.”

So like her son who was selected sixth overall in the 2010 draft and has already played in the Pro Bowl, she may also find her own fame & fortune

“We are all very blessed with everything that is happening,” said Dorothy, who is also a Professional Football Players Mother Association Representative.
