NFL Player Engagement’s “PE TV” Set The Place to be at SB XLVIII Media Center

Engagement Insider

NEW YORK, NY January 29, 2014 – The NFL Player Engagement’s TV set was the place to be today at the Super Bowl Media Center, as “PE TV” captured new content from dusk to dawn to broadcast on its website (www.nflplayerengagement.com).

The day started with the announcement that NFLPE and AARP’s Life Reimagined were teaming up to support players in their post-game transition.

To kick off this colossal collaboration, CBS Broadcaster James Brown and NFL Hall of Fame Quarterback Dan Marino, who is also Life Reimagined Men’s Life Ambassador, teamed up live on the PE TV set to discuss the impact of this partnership, while also gathering perspective from guests.

But that was only the beginning as former players David Tyree and Aeneas Williams interviewed a parade of current and former NFL legends who were on site in the MediaCenter’s sprawling “Radio Row” room.

The lengthy list of interviewees included Bill Romanowski, Charlie Batch, Eddie Mason, Mitch Berger, Delanie Walker, Sam Madison, Randy Grimes, Plaxico Burress, Tony Richardson, Jamal Lewis, Jack Youngblood, Fred Willis, Blaine Bishop, Mike Daniels, and Chad Brown.

The compelling chats conducted one-on-one covered various topics, ranging from the backgrounds and careers of the players to how they transitioned out of the NFL and into the lives they lead today.

Many have found significant success since leaving the game, and shared their secrets with advice like determining other passions beyond football, having faith and humility, focusing on fitness, the value of networking, using NFLPE resources and attending programs, giving back, and enjoying family time.

All acknowledged that their time in the NFL was the ultimate launching pad for the NEXT part of their lives, and put them in position for their present productive lives.

“We were very pleased with the powerful day we had in the MediaCenter,” said Troy Vincent, Senior Vice President of Player Engagement. “From starting the morning with our meaningful AARP announcement to an afternoon filled with continuous player interviews, we had a strong presence that transmitted the energy to all who were watching on PE TV.”
