PRLog (Press Release) - Jun. 19, 2014 - PATERSON, N.J. -- 11-year NFL veteran and the newly signed Indianapolis Colt, Mike Adams is on a natural high. While there still is a bittersweet feeling from the 2014 Superbowl XLVIII loss, there’s no doubt that he is a complete winner in his hometown of Paterson, NJ. For the past 8 years, Adams has put together a weekend of free events for his community and this year is no different.
The weekend kicks off on Friday morning with Adams sharing his journey at a private professional business event in Florham Park. He will emphasize the importance of hard work and overcoming adversity to a group of 100 people celebrating a promotion.
Friday evening, Adams will partner with the USA Boxing Association and Bergen County PAL Boxing, and present an evening titled “Pride of Paterson Boxing in the Park”. The free event starts at 6pm at Larry Doby Field and is hosted by the WBC champion, Kendall Holt. Adams will be recognized during intermission of the event by the City of Paterson for his work within the community.
On Saturday morning, Adams will host his 8th annual football camp at Passaic Tech High School. The free camp was open to the first 250 kids to pre register online. Campers will keep hydrated with BodyArmor SuperDrink throughout the day. The new premium sports drink is a favorite of many athletes and consists of coconut water and countless electrolytes. Adams’ annual "Fun in the Sun" Block Party will follow the camp on Carrelton Drive, behind St. Gerard Church. Adams takes a lot of pride in putting together this free event for his community, which provides a day of entertainment, food, activity and unity. “My camp and block party is my favorite part. I love seeing the faces on the kids knowing that I helped create those smiles”, said Adams.
The weekend closes Sunday as Adams is celebrated in NYC for being on the 2014 Spring Cover of Eclec Magazine. New York City is the first stop of their Industry tour that continues on to Houston, Chicago, Atlanta and London.
