Happy Mother's Day ‘Mother's First’

Mother's First means that we are mothers first and foremost in our sons' lives, before we are agents, financial advisers, managers, or supporters of their nonprofit foundations. It is a time that recognizes and honors that we are family first.

May is an awesome month when we celebrate mothers and the role they play in their children's lives and the influence they have in society.  It is a day that not only applies to mothers, but also to men who have served as both mothers and fathers in their children's lives.

“Know your best quality, your outstanding gift. Cultivate it and nature all the rest. All people could have achieved eminence in something if only they had known what they excelled at.” Balthazar Grecian.

Happy Mother’s Day!

For me, Mother's Day is a celebration honoring mothers and motherhood, maternal bonds. Letting one know how much she is loved and appreciated. - Denise Wayne (Reggie Wayne, Indianapolis Colts)

Mother's Day is a very special day to celebrate women who have children and those who influence children. I host a mother/daughter tea at my church each year and during that time we bless mothers that are in Women's shelters. I am blessed to have my mother with me so I want each Mother's Day to be special for her. - Dianne Bailey

Mother's Day is a day that reminds me to keep celebrating my own mother everyday of the year like my son celebrated me. I am fortunate to still have my mother with me, so every day is a holiday for me with her. - Sherry Hill (Mother of the Late Marquise Hill #91 New England Patriots)

Mother's Day is a time to reflect on the past, the influences of our mother's, grandmothers, big-momma's, and other women who have help mold me into the woman I am.  It is a time to look at the present...to tell my children I love them and to ask myself what am I doing to pass on the values that were taught to me to my children and to evaluate the success of my efforts. Finally, it is a time to focus on the future... projecting my children into greatness.  It is a time to send up prayers for them, asking God to continue to wrap his loving and merciful arms around them and keep them healthy and safe in these uncertain times. - Tenita Shannon-Gragg (Chris Gragg, Buffalo Bills)

Mother's Day to me is an opportunity to reflect on how I can become a better listener and a growing example of what it means to continue to empower my four adult sons, and other young people who don't have positive role models in their lives. It's also a time for my sons to reflect on how important I am and how much they appreciate the sacrifices I have made for them. Even more importantly, I take a moment to be thankful for the gift of mothers God placed in my life. Then I sit back, relax and enjoy the fruits of my labor! - Deanna Moore (Kyle Moore, CFL Toronto Argonauts)

Mother's Day is a special day where I can kick off my shoes and do nothing and just wait for my children to cater to my every need, from going to church together, having brunch together to receiving gifts. - Dorothy Okung (Russell Okung, Seattle Seahawks)
