CAM NEWTON FOUNDATION LAUNCHES “SUPER CAM CLUB” FUNDRAISER

FOR 2013 PANTHERS SEASON

New online fundraiser gives fans a chance to support education by donating for every Newton touchdown scored this season

Charlotte, N.C. -  The Cam Newton Foundation (CNF) announced today the launch of its new online fundraiser --  the Super Cam Club --  to impact youth and education in Charlotte-Mecklenburg.  The fundraiser encourages fans to help “Raise the Score” in the community with an easy way to support the Foundation’s education programs and cheer on Newton and the Carolina Panthers this season.  Fans join the Super Cam Club by pledging a specified donation amount for each of Newton’s passing and rushing touchdowns in the 2013 Panthers regular and postseason games.

Fans can select a pledge amount per touchdown ranging between $5, $10, $50 and $250.  There are two options – a “Season Pass,” which includes all home and away games for the duration of the season, or a “Pick Your Game” option, where fans select up to four games per season to participate.  The pledge amounts are the same for both options.  After every Panthers game, Newton’s passing and rushing touchdown numbers will be combined for the total number of touchdowns.  At the end of the season, participants receive various gifts, depending on their giving amount.   Items range from autographed pictures, personalized footballs and jerseys, to meet and greets with Cam.

Fans can sign up for the “Season Pass” until September 8, which is the date of the Panthers regular season opening game.  After that, fans can sign up for individual games.  In order to participate or for more details, fans should go to the CNF website link:

“I am excited about this new Foundation fundraiser and partnership with my fans,” says Newton.  “I think it’s a great way for people of any age and any place to get involved by watching the games and hopefully giving back to the community.  I’m looking forward to the season and also continuing to build and grow my Foundation. “

The CNF’s “Every 1 Learns” initiatives expand educational opportunities for children who are deserving, at-risk or disadvantaged.  As a fan and supporter of Cam and the CNF “Every 1 Learns” initiatives, this is a great way for fans to get involved and excited about the football season.  During the 2012-2013 academic year, the CNF donated over  $200,000 to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools through the School Pride program.  The Foundation donated $50,000 to three area middle schools, in addition to hosting School Pride Day in May and various other contributions to other area education-based non-profits.
