Billy and Nicole Cundiff Hosting Golf Tournament and Gala for Ovarian Cancer Awareness

Colleen’s Dream Foundation will host its First Annual Golf Tournament and "Evening of Dreams" Gala to benefit ovarian cancer research, in Scottsdale, Arizona, on February 21 (golf) and February 22 (Gala), 2014, according to Nicole Cundiff, Executive Director of Colleen’s Dream Foundation.

"We are thrilled to announce our first annual golf tournament and 'Evening of Dreams' Gala," says Cundiff. "We have been hosting parties for the last six years to raise funds for ovarian cancer research, but these events will mark the beginning of Colleen’s Dream signature fundraising efforts."

Cundiff says the Gala is in honor of her mother Colleen Drury, who was the inspiration for Colleen’s Dream Foundation, and who passed from ovarian cancer just a year ago.

"These events will mark the one year anniversary of my mom’s passing," says Cundiff. "This is not only a beautiful way to honor her life, but to also honor her dream of finding an early detection test for ovarian cancer so that other women will not suffer the same fate."

Even though the event was only announced last month, the 12 available sponsorship spots have already been taken, and the Gala has sold out with over 300 guests attending.

Cundiff says this success reflects how passionate people are about the issue of ovarian cancer, and how deeply people cared for her mother.

She says she is looking forward to this time of celebration and remembrance, with all those who will be attending.

"We are thrilled about our NFL friends coming to Phoenix to support our cause," says Cundiff. "And we couldn’t be happier about the live musical entertainment and dancing provided by the Instant Classics, and having Teresa Strasser as our emcee. But mostly, we are excited to share our passion and cause with our community and friends."

About Colleen's Dream Foundation:

Colleen’s Dream Foundation started in 2012 and supports research for early detection and improved treatment for ovarian cancer.

The story of Colleen’s Dream started in 2007 when Nicole Cundiff's mother, Colleen Drury, was diagnosed with late-stage ovarian cancer. It was only then that Colleen, her husband Billy Cundiff, and her family realized a new world that was filled with invasive surgery, harsh chemotherapy, and lots of uncertainty.

Colleen’s Dream Foundation believes it is important to raise money for research that will lead to reliable early detection testing and improved treatment for ovarian cancer.

Because so little is known about ovarian cancer in proportion to other women’s health issues, we have an incredible opportunity for research and education.

Colleen’s Dream is working with some of the top research hospitals and universities that are researching ovarian cancer. By offering seed funding to young investigators, the Foundation funds cutting-edge research by some of the brightest, young minds in the world.

Colleen’s Dream Foundation is a qualified 501 (c) (3) tax exempt non-profit organization based in Phoenix, Arizona.
