Team Engagement
March 11, 2013
Action! Day one of NFLPE's Pro Hollywood Boot Camp started off with a bang. Current and former NFL players were welcomed to the program hosted by the NFL and Film Life. After a brief check in and luncheon, attendees were whisked off to Universal Studios for a private, behind-the-scenes tour of the Universal back lot and famed Alfred Hitchcock Theater where they learned the art of sound design and sound composition. Following the session, players hopped on the open-air tour bus and weaved through multiple sound stages and attractions including JAWS, King Kong and the Crystal Skull, the famed Universal prop warehouse and the War of the World's set used by Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise.
After learning the craft of screenwriting from professor and working Hollywood writer, producer, and director Steve Duncan, players closed the day with an interactive Q&A with filmmakers Robert Townsend and Roger Bobb of Tyler Perry Studios fame.
PHBC attendees wrapped the day knowing the script writing techniques and film contacts they gained today can carry them to the top of the Hollywood Hills someday.
