NFL Families and Halloween

By Rachel Terrill, Player Engagement Insider

While NFL Players and Legends can be terrors on the gridiron, dressing up for Halloween can bring out their sillier (or their spookier) sides. Whether they are at a Halloween party with teammates or out trick-or-treating with their children, these NFL Players and Legends dressed up to celebrate the season.

Throwback from NFL Legend Isaiah Kacyvenski who celebrated Halloween with littlest loves, his daughter Lily and son Isaiah Jr.  Kacyvenski played for the Seattle Seahawks, St. Louis Rams, and Oakland Raiders from 2000-2007.

The Force is strong with the Maragos family. Chris Maragos and his wife Serah dressed as Hans Solo and Princess Leia with their sons Micah and Mason as Chewbacca and Yoda. Maragos is #42 for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Throwback from 2013 from NFL Legend Joey Hollenbeck who got in the Halloween spirit with his wife, Kate, and their daughters Capri and Charli. Hollenbeck played for the Seattle Seahawks in 2005.

NFL Legend Darrell B Irvin poses as The Mona Lisa to celebrate Halloween. Irvin played from 1979-84 with the Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks.

NFL Legend David Thomas was a super hero on the field and he is still a super hero at home with his super family including his wife, Kassidy, their children Jaxon, Rylan, Karis, and Kylie and their super pup Livi. Thomas played for the New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints from 2006-2013.

NFL Legend Garrett Graham and his wife Ericka love celebrating Halloween with their NFL friends and teammates. The Grahams channeled their best Ron Burgundy and Veronica Corningstone for this fun couples’ costume. Graham played for the Houston Texans and Denver Broncos from 2010-2016.

NFL Legend Red Bryant is a super husband and a super dad. Bryant is pictured here celebrating Halloween with part of his super crew including wife, Janelle and sons Brooks and Jax. Bryant played for the Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars, Buffalo Bills and Arizona Cardinals from 2008-2016.

NFL Legend Joe Tafoya offers this throwback from a jungle-themed Halloween with his wife Brandelyn and their little tiger. Tafoya played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chicago Bears, Seattle Seahawks, and Arizona Cardinals from 2001-2007.

NFL Legend Zach Miller with son, Paxton as Frodo and Gandalf from Lord of the Rings. Miller played for the Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks from 2007-2014.

Tytan Mitchell, son of Tia and NFL Legend Qasim Mitchell dressed up as a Ninja Turtle for Halloween. “He's our little super hero every day,” Tia said. Mitchell played for the Cleveland Browns, Chicago Bears, Carolina Panthers, Arizona Cardinals, and San Francisco 49ers from 2002-2008.

The Trufants know that a family that plays together stays together – and this family sure loves to have fun. NFL Legend Marcus Trufant is dressed as a Ninja Turtle with his wife, Jessica dressed as Rainbow Dash. Their children Karmyn, Kimora, Kennedi, Kass, and Kash are dressed as a unicorn, a dark princess, Alice in Wonderland, a clown, and a dinosaur. Trufant played for the Seattle Seahawks and the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2003-2013.

NFL Legend Steve Vallos celebrated Halloween with his wife, Lindsey, and their three children Teddy, Lucy, and Gigi. Vallos played for the Seattle Seahawks, Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos, and Tennessee Titans from 2007-2014.

NFL Legend Reggie Brown and his wife, Megan, love being parents to these three costumed cuties, Miles, Norah and Charlotte. Brown played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2005-2010.

NFL Legend Grant Wistrom, pictured here as Ronald McDonald, with wife Melissa as The Hamburgler and their son, Wyatt, as French fries, hosted annual Halloween party fundraisers for their NFL teammates and fans to raise money for pediatric cancer patients. Wistrom played for the St. Louis Rams and Seattle Seahawks from 1999-2006.
