NFL Player Engagement

In the National Football League’s continuing efforts to improve services and programs for transitioning players, we have established an NFL Player Engagement Advisory Board comprised of former players, medical professionals, and former coaches. The mission of the NFLPE Advisory Board is to educate, advise, and assist active/former athletes in family safety, lifestyle, wellness, and transition; promote recognition of shared responsibilities and athlete accountability; and utilize best practices to develop a peer counselor training program.

The Board had its initial quarterly board meeting on September 26-27 at the League Office and conducted roundtable discussions covering topics including transition, total wellness, mentoring, networking, resources, and success on and off-the-field.

Council members include:

  • Former players: Don Davey, Marvin Cobb, Ryan Kuehl, George Koonce, Scott Radecic, Kellen Winslow
  • Former Coaches: Tony Dungy, Marvin Levy, Dan Reeves, Marty Schottenheimer, Tyrone Willingham; Donald Remy
  • NCAA Executives: Donald Remy, Jon Oliver
